VW took a deserved beating over dieselgate. They seem to have learned their lesson. The iD.3 and several other cars are based on their new MEB platform. The iD.2 is solid, economical, safe, has loads of room, and gives range that tops pretty much any competitive car. It's not going to make any statement about you except that you know a good deal when you see it. It brings along everything that made the VW Golf a winner.
If you're in doubt about which electric car is the right one for you, this is probably the right one for you. A Golf, but better. More space. MUCH quieter. Higher spec. There have been tales that the first very few cars needed software updates, but that's all sorted. Get one.
